CLARKSBURG - Thirty high school business students from schools across Harrison County will be participating in the Harrison County Schools Business Symposium on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 8:30 to 1 p.m. at Pierpont Community & Technical College Gaston Caperton center in downtown Clarksburg.
Business students will team up across high schools in this Shark Tank like event, to create a new product or service for Under Armour. Each team will present their pitch and ideas to judges. Harrison County Schools appreciates the volunteers from businesses that answered our call for coaches to help guide the teams in the challenge. One business teacher will also serve as a coach on each team.
The event is being sponsored by Community Care of West Virginia. Teams will be working in breakout rooms and have a working pizza lunch. The team presentations to judges will start between 11:30 and noon. Students on the winning team will receive $25 Amazon Gift Cards.
The Harrison Chamber of Commerce recognized last year’s Business Symposium winners at their entrepreneurial event, The Tank, on October 2, 2024 at Robinson Grand Theatre. Students who won were brought to the stage and presented with certificates and each was awarded with a $500 college scholarship donated by Triple H.
