Ripley (Saturday, July 9th 2022) – FFA members from across the state of West Virginia converged on Cedar Lakes Conference Center earlier in July for the 94th Annual State FFA Convention. At the convention, the South Harrison FFA Chapter was recognized as one of only seven recipients of the Gold Emblem Chapter Award and will now represent the State at the National Competition in Indianapolis, Indiana in the Fall.
Students Katie Rogers, Madison Stonestreet, and Hunter Bunch were State Champions in the West Virginia Proficiency Competition. While Parker Bunch, Hunter Johnson, and Tyson Lipps were named West Virginia State Stars the highest awards the State Association bestows on members.
Connor Butcher, Johnny Butcher, Parker Bunch, Tyson Lipps, Silas Matheny, James Woodward, Kylie Fenstermacher, Katie Rogers, Kevin Nelson, and James Radcliff were recipients of the West Virginia State FFA Degree. In addition, the Agriculture Department at South Harrison High School under the direction of advisors John Lockhart and Kyle Kidwell was named Outstanding Program by the West Virginia Association of Agricultural Educators.
