Jennifer Zickefoose, a first grade teacher at Nutter Fort Primary, was recently acknowledged by the West Virginia Department of Education for having completed her National Board Maintenance of Certification.
The National Board’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) is the pathway for National Board Certified Teachers to keep their certification active. Zickefoose earned her National Board Certification in 2020.
Zickefoose, who has a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a Masters from Fairmont State, has been teaching for 21 years. Eleven of those years has been spent at NFP.
Zickefoose said she had always wanted to be a teacher ever since she was in kindergarten.
“I love kids and their excitement for learning. I want to make a positive difference in each student’s life by helping them learn and grow. Those ‘aha’ moments are priceless,” she said.
Away from teaching, Zickefoose loves to catch a WVU game, hang out with her family and tote her daughter to all of her activities.
