Mrs. Oliverio welcomed members to the meeting and began with introductions. There were nine members in attendance. Elections of LSIC Roles were held – Kristen Conrad, President, Frankie Secret, Vice President, Lou Ann Nicholas, Secretary. Dr. Cooper chaired the meeting.
Safety Concerns
Unlocked Doors – Teachers have been asked to make sure all doors are shut and asked to teach the students to turn and check if they are the caboose.
We discussed having a heightened sense on the playground and in the building. Make sure to ask anyone without a tag what their purpose in the building is. Everyone who is admitted to the building is processed through raptor.
Teachers are reminded daily in the memo – Do Not prop open doors even at dismissal.
Mrs. Oliverio would like for the classes to move a little quicker when exiting during fire drills. Possible new routes for a couple classes are being discussed with the fire marshal.
Lynn will be reminding party parents their license must be scanned into Raptor to gain admittance into the building. She will be working with teachers to ensure this happens.
Deputy Navarini us checking into possible reunification site of Frank Loria Field in case the school has to be evacuated. The immediate site for NFP is the lower parking lot.
Beginning of the Year Academic Updates
Several students still need to complete the iReady beginning of year benchmark. The dead line is this Friday.
The Core Phonics Screener and Math Screener may take a little longer for teachers to complete.

Oct. 1, 2024 - The Clarksburg Lion’s Club will begin reading to second grade in the afternoon on Tuesdays.
October will be Fire Safety Month with a visit from the Nutter Fort Fire Department for grades K-2 during the weeks of Oct. 7-11 and Oct. 14-18. All 8 Pre-K classes will take a field trip to visit the Nutter Fort Fire Department.

October 28, 2024 – Mad Scientist Day – Schedule to be sent to teachers.
