Mrs. Rexroad was chosen for 6th grade teacher of the month. She has been teaching for 15 years. She loves teaching middle school because they are funny and creative. Mrs. Rexroad loved reading and math growing up. She doesn’t teach those subjects because as an adult she realized she loves history!

The 7th grade teacher of the month is Mrs. Wilson. She has been teaching for 17 years. She loves teaching middle school. “I love that middle schoolers keep me on my toes. Everyday is different and I never know what to expect.” Growing up she loved math. When asked why she teaches math this is what she said. "It always just made sense to me and clicked in my mind easily. I had an amazing calculus teacher who inspired my love for math and my passion to teach it."

The related arts teacher chosen is Ms. Murray. She has been teaching for five years. Here is what she said when asked about why she loves teaching middle school, "My favorite part about teaching middle school is all of the different personalities and interests of the students. Their humor and personalities make teaching even more fun." Ms. Murray's favorite subject has always been music. She said she teaches music because she always said she would share her passion with others ever since fourth grade.

Mrs. Wilson was chosen for 8th grade teacher of the month. She has been teaching for 5+ years. Here is why she loves being a middle school teacher. “Being a middle school teacher allows me the opportunity to watch my students grow socially, academically, and emotionally. I love being able to witness this journey as it is quite extraordinary with all of the diverse personalities of my students. They are so full of energy and enthusiasm which tends to lead to wonderful and lively class discussions. They definitely keep me on my toes!” Mrs. Wilson’s favorite subject growing up was English. She hopes that she can pass her love for English on to her students even if it’s just a smidge!
