EXCITING BAND NEWS!!
Your child has expressed interest in joining the band program at Nutter Fort Elementary School. Your child has attended a Band Instrument Demonstration and was possibly given the “Selmer Survey,” which helps us determine your child’s aptitude for music. The next step is to determine which band instrument best fits your child. This determination is made by “Instrument Embouchure Evaluation.”
BANDLAND will be sponsoring an “Instrument Embouchure Evaluation Session” for students and parents of Nutter Fort Elementary School. This is a free service for prospective band students:
When: Thursday, September 12
Between the hours of 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM
(You may arrive at any time during the above hours)
Where: Nutter Fort Cafeteria
Please Note: If you are unable to attend the above session, please speak with your band director, he will be happy to tell you how to get your child involved in the string program.
When you arrive for the Embouchure Evaluation, you will be given a number. You may be seated at that time. When your number is called, you may move to a controlled area where your child’s embouchure will be evaluated by a seasoned professional.
Your child will be asked which of the instruments he or she is most interested and then evaluated.
If the evaluation is favorable for that instrument, your child will be good to acquire that instrument.
If the evaluation is unfavorable for the first instrument selected, your child will be asked to make a second-choice selection of the remaining instruments.
Embouchure Evaluation only takes a few minutes, although there may be a waiting time depending on when you arrive. There is no obligation to take part in this session.
The staff from Bandland will also have rental instruments available and will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have after the Evaluation.
The accompanying pamphlet describes the rental program and various options available.
