We have 189 students at Lost Creek from PreSchool to 5th Grade. Currently, there are 2 preschools, including the offsite preschool located at the bottom of the hill. There are also 2 Kindergartens, 2 first grades, and 2 third grades. Our two Academic Support Specialists provide specialized instruction in reading and math. Students receive Physical Education, Music, Library and Computer instruction on a weekly basis.

History of Lost Creek Elementary:

Originally named Grant District High School, the doors were first opened in October of 1915, housing grades 1 through 12. It opened with the help of borrowed chairs from the community. Some of the rooms of the building were heated with coal burning stoves. The first students arrived on foot, horseback, and streetcar. Later, Ford cars and sleighs were utilized. There are 96 steps from the bottom of the hill to the third floor. Climbing these steps provided physical exercise as a gym wasn't completed until 1922 at the bottom of the hill where we currently have a parking lot.  A new gym was added to the existing building in 1994.  Increasing enrollment made it necessary to construct a new high school. Thus, South Harrison High School was built in 1965, allowing Lost Creek to become an elementary school. Nestled at the top of a hill, we at Lost Creek consider our school to be the true "hidden gem" of Harrison County!
