 Reports for the Meeting: 

Principal - Mrs. Mathews then went through the principal’s report for the meeting: 

  1. PSAT/NMSQT 

  1. Aerospace Field Trips 

  1. FFA conferences – Attended the National Conference, FFA Fall Fest was held on November 2 – Great turnout 

  1. Homecoming – Very successful and city was a major help with the parade 

  1. Policy 2510 meeting update – Edwards and counselors attended regional conference with WVDE 

  1. Personal Finance – Graduation Requirement 

  1. Written into state code to be required either Jr. or Sr. year 

  1. Would like to look at options of being allowed to offer this course at any time between grades 9-12. 

  1. Algebra 1 Support – Can no longer be offered as a graduation credit, students can still take it, but will need four other math graduation requirements 

  1. Discipline Report – Mr. Sears went through and explained the numbers of the discipline report. 

  1. Athletic Updates – some athletic facilities will be getting upgrades including softball and soccer. Cross country has state competitors and volleyball will be preparing for regionals. Football season is getting near postseason. 

  1. Music/Theater Updates – All School Play of Beauty and the Beast just wrapped up. Sold out shows, great audience participation, and great student and community support. 

  1. Attendance – Have remained steady at around 94.5% attendance for the school year.  

Teachers – School year seems to be going well, students are involved 

Community – Supportive of the school, continue to push for support for school levy on election day 

Service – New air conditioning, new fire doors, two more doors on the list to be replaced 

Parents – No concerns, students seem to be happy with the school and activities 

Additions: 

Discussed the issue of sales tax and the limit of fundraisers.  

Shawn Long made a motion to form a committee to look into tax- and tax-free process. Anna Matheny seconds the motion. Motion carried.
