Clarksburg - Breanna Cutright, an upcoming sophomore at Liberty, has spent her summer advocating for a cause she believes in.
In Middle School, she joined a club called RAZE, a tobacco-free club. Her enthusiasm encouraged her Grandpa to kick a 50+ year habit. Making a difference inspired her. She applied to be a state-wide Ambassador for the RAZE club and was awarded the honor. Through this position, she has met with state representatives in Charleston to speak out on the importance of tobacco education to prevent youth from starting.
After attending the RAZE Ambassador Retreat in Ripley, WV, at the start of July, Cutright then caught a flight to D.C.
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids selects 25 phenomenal young people from across the entire country to spend the week learning communication skills, research, and how to stand up for a cause effectively. These trainings built up to a visit to Capitol Hill on Wednesday to meet with representatives. She met with Shelly Moore Capito and Joe Manchin's office. Breanna has made friends with other passionate youth that will last a lifetime and has taken away skills she can apply well beyond her Tobacco-Free projects.
