Lost Creek, WV (Friday, February, 28th, 2023) – Members of the South Harrison FFA donned their blue and gold corduroy jackets Friday evening to celebrate the end of National FFA Week and host their Annual Parent/Member Awards Banquet.
Freshman Greg Hickman, Sophomore Sean Bell, Junior Hope Woods, and Senior Taylor Smith were awarded outstanding members for their grade level. Emma Hitt was awarded the Chapter’s Star Greenhand Award, given annually to the first-year member exhibiting the most promise and dedication to the program. Spencer Nolan was the recipient of the 2023 Chapter Star Farmer Award.
Inducted as Honorary Members of the South Harrison chapter were retired South Harrison High School (SHHS) agriculture teacher Don Lechner, and current SHHS teachers and staff members Lori Cobb of the Mathematics department, Dee Cayton of English/Humanities, Curtus Radcliff of Health and Physical Education, and teachers aid Peggy Sue Bennett.
The chapter also recognized Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, Joe R.
