A School-Parent Compact is an agreement that parents and teachers develop together. It explains how parents and teachers will work together to make sure all students get the individual support they need to reach and exceed grade level standards.

The parents and staff of Victory Elementary School developed this School-Parent Compact. Parents/guardians gave feedback on family engagement activities. School-wide meetings are held each year to review the Compact. This year, the school reached out on the app and website to ask for input from parents/guardians.

• Offering Parent Workshops to help you work with your child at home.

• Sending home regular newsletters.

• Posting important updates on the school app.

• Highlighting school activities on the school social media account.

• Helping students set reading, math, and behavior goals

• Modeling our school & classroom rules…Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.

• Working with small groups to guide students in reading & math success

• Offering support to parents through literature in our parent resource area.

• Sending assessment results home and being available to discuss them.

• Maintaining two-way communication

• Fostering and sustaining the family-school relationship

• Reading with my child every day and talking about the stories.

• Attending Family Nights

• Checking the class newsletter and school app each week for updates.

• Checking daily homework folder and agenda for assignments, daily behavior, and notes.

• Making sure my child gets to school every day, on time, sending in an excuse if absent.

• Talking with my child daily about what they are learning in school.

• Helping my child see how their learning connects to real-life: home, nature, or community.

• Talking about assessments, grades, & report cards.

• Setting and keeping track of reading, math and behavior goals.

• Reading every night.

• Sharing what you learned daily at school.

• Coming to school every day, on time.

• Being Respectful, Responsible, & Safe to myself and others at school and home.

• Doing my homework everyday and asking for help if I need it.

• Bringing home my agenda and homework folder with important papers.
