Meeting was called to Oder
Mrs. Ferrari called them meeting to order at 2:32pm.
Approval of Minutes
There were no minutes to approve for the 24-25 shool year. This is the first meeting
Principals Report
Dr. Veltri introduced members of the committee. Dr. Veltri completed the annual training of the LSIC utilizing WVDE training materials. Dr. Veltri answered any questions from the committee regarding the committee's roles and responsibilities after completing the initial training. Any members not present at this meeting will be trained by Dr. Veltri.
Election of Roles
Dr. Veltri made a motion to elect Kiersten Ferrari as President. Rosie Linton seconded the motion. The motion passed.
K. Ferrari made a motion to elect Kimberlee McCloud as vice president. Jon Capicola seconded the motion. The motion passed.
K. Ferrari made a motion to elect Katlin Brown as secretary. Kimberlee McCloud seconded the motion. The motion passed.
K. McCloud made a motion to elect Rosie Linton as liaison to the PTA. Jon Capicola seconded the motion. The motion passed.
K. McCloud made a motion to elect Nina Williams as the Faculty Senate liaison. Debbie Parks seconded the motion. The motion passed.
New Business
Carol Whisler declined her role as a member. Shelly Bernett was nominated as a new member. The LSIC committee agreed to add her as the new service personnel member. Dr. Veltri discusses food needs for the food pantry at NVES. Students receive snack bags from Duff Street church for the weekend, but some families have food insecurity during the week. Rosie Linton and Kimberlee McCloud discussed a grant opportunity. LSIC discussed working in conjunction with PTA to write a letter to give to locate businesses asking to assist the food pantry. Amanda Niggiannis discusses requesting support for a local church group. Rosie Linton will also work to organize a food drive at her place of business. Additional needs discussed were gloves and hat for the winter months. A letter will be written to hand out to local community members and businesses from the PTA and LSIC to ask for support for NVES food pantry to support afterschool food insecurities.
