Liberty Driving / Parking Regulations

  1. A student must purchase a parking tag. 

  2. Before a student can purchase a parking tag, he/she must fill out the application for driving and parking. This application must be signed by applicant’s parent or guardian. 

  3. Student driver’s license, proof of vehicle registration and proof of insurance must be copied by school personnel and attached to the application. 

  4. The parking tag must be placed on the inside rear view mirror. If you have more than one vehicle registered to drive to school, the tag must be displayed in any of those vehicles when driving to school. No excuses will be accepted. A parking tag is required in each vehicle to provide an identification of the vehicle. 

  5. The front row closest to the building and the parking area beside the green house is reserved for faculty parking only. 

  6. A student who has permission to park at school must park in the designated parking area and in accordance with instruction from the administration. Vehicles must be parked facing in. 

  7. The speed limit in the parking lot is 5 M.P.H. and elsewhere on the school grounds is 10 M.P.H. 

  8. Students who receive permission to park at school must strictly abide by the following: 

    1. Students must vacate and lock their cars and leave the parking area immediately upon arrival. 

    2. Students are NOT permitted to return to their cars or the parking area until dismissal time. 

    3. The parking lot is off-limits to all students at all times during normal school hours. 

    4. Students are to abide by all of the above regulations at any school activity on the grounds of LHS. 

    5. Students are allowed to drive to the UTC/United High School if they have a parking permit at Liberty and UTC or United High School. Students are NOT permitted to drive other students to or from UTC/United High School. 

  9. Any student observed driving in a manner that jeopardizes the safety of others or who violates standard driving regulations will have his/her driving/parking privileges revoked. 

  10. If a student has 6 unexcused tardies or 2 unexcused absences in first block during a 6 week period that student, if they drive to school and have a parking permit, will have their parking privileges revoked for 3 weeks. For those students who do not drive and have 6 unexcused tardies or 2 unexcused absences to first block, they will have lunch detention for 3 weeks. Tardies and absences will be reviewed on the last day of each six weeks grading period. Repeated violations by student drivers shall result in loss of driving/parking privileges for the rest of the school year. Those repeat offenders without driving/parking privileges will then be assigned SCC. If the violations continue then additional administrative action shall be taken which may include Out of School Suspension. 

  11. 10 UNEXCUSED ABSENCES WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF DRIVING/PARKING PRIVILEGES FOR THE DURATION OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. 

This is to be retained for future reference by the student and parent/guardian.
