We have three school-wide classroom parties per year, Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day.
Parents/guardians are welcome to attend one party each year, however, they must be signed up prior so the office can vet all visitors and prepare name tags.
Because we cannot contact classrooms during parties from the gymnasium, we follow the lists we have been given exactly.
Party signups take place during our beginning-of-the-year Open House; however, additions/adjustments can be made by contacting your child’s teacher.
The following are our school guidelines for homerooms parties:
Parties are typically held on or as close as possible to the actual holiday. However, we do not schedule parties on Fridays, as our Pre-K students are not in attendance.
Parents or guardians with multiple students can only attend one party at a time. You cannot sign up for multiple classrooms on the same day.
All visitors will enter the building for sign in at the gymnasium. Guest badges must be worn.
We cannot accommodate younger siblings at classroom parties. You will not be permitted to enter if you arrive with a child.
Homeroom teachers alert our Party Parents/Planners of classroom allergies. Those must be followed. Because we are responsible for following allergies for all foods ingested/passed out at school, we cannot send home treat bags containing candy or food, nor can we allow Valentine’s cards to come in containing candy or food. Please do not buy them. We will have to remove them.
We cannot serve any homemade food of any kind. All foods must be commercially prepared. Bakeries are commercial.
For security purposes, Halloween costumes cannot include blood or weapons. No masks can be worn. If using makeup, we must still be able to identify the child.
Dismissal time is the busiest time of the day in an elementary school. When parties end at 2:15 PM, we quickly begin our dismissal procedures. Teachers and students are traveling throughout the building. While we can dismiss the child in the room of the party you are attending, we cannot handle mass sibling dismissals. Please wait outside for your other children for typical dismissal.
